Maureen E. Farris

Maureen Elizabeth Farris, age 68, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Greeneville, Tennessee, on Sunday, April 24, 2016.

She is preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Alexander “Alex” Farris; parents, Kendall and Kathleen Knowlton; and sister, Christine Sholibo.

Maureen is survived by her children, Owen (Corey) Silva, Lynn (Randall) Doster, Jason (Holly) Farris and Eric Farris; grandchildren, Brianna, Kelsey, Sam, Logan, Danny, Blake, Madison, Dawson, Avery, Hunter and Hailey; sister and best friend, Eileen (George) Bernard; sister, Kathy Kordelski; and special family friend, Milton Miles.

Maureen, or “Moe” as some affectionately called her, made an impact on all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her kindness and compassion was felt through her engaging smile and love for life. She was known for making the best chocolate cake around and always made sure her friends and family got plenty of them.

She was the mom who called each of her children on the exact time of their birth each year to sing them Happy Birthday. She was the grandmother who had tea parties and sleepovers that will be treasured memories forever. She was the friend you could count on when you needed her.

She lived for her children and grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed every minute she spent with them. She never placed value on what money could buy, she valued relationships above all. She loved deeply and will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.

A visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, with a celebration of her life to directly follow at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215.

Please visit www.schoedinger.com to sign her online guest book or leave a special memory or photo.
