Wayne E. Edgington, 83, of Circleville, died 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born July 20, 1932, in Ross County, to the late Alonzo and Helen Harkless Edgington.
On Feb. 28, 1951, he married the former Loraine Cochenour, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Melvin E. (Debra) Edgington, Charles A. Edgington, and Cheryl (Larry) Hardesty, all of Circleville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren including Kimberly and Cecelia Tirey, Colton, Addison and Emilea Edgington; several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Charles Schoenholtz of Chillicothe.
He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Schoenholtz; and brothers, Earl and Floyd Edgington.
Wayne was a farmer and retired from the Mead Corp. He was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 731 and attended the Church of Christ in Circleville.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, in the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, with Rev. Delbert Allison and Jack Abels, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the funeral home.
