Earl Ross, 74, of Frankfort, died Feb. 6, 2016, in Panama City, Florida.
He was born May 17, 1941, in Chillicothe, to the late Earl and Alice Biechler Ross.
On Oct. 8, 2011, he married Hattie Joan Maynard Hendershot Ross, who survives. Also surviving are his two step-sons, Ty Irvin Hendershot and Phillip Tad (Karla) Hendershot; three step-grandchildren, Logan Cody, Trent Evan and Carys Ray Hendershot; five sisters, Jenny (Clyde) Burton and Doris (Barry) Ebert of Chillicothe, Carol Hollis of Cincinnati, Susan (Harold) Caldwell of South Bloomfield, and Lee Ann Patrick of Hillsboro; a brother, Richard (Heidi) Ross of Circleville; a special cousin, Marlena (Phillip) McCloud; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Ross retired from the Mead Paper Company. He was a US Army Vietnam War veteran. He served as an EMT and search & rescuer with Scioto Township and was a member of the VFW, Post 62, American Legion, Post 62, DAV, AMVETS Post 4 and the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
He enjoyed anything outdoors, including hunting, fishing and gardening.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Chillicothe. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haller’s.
