February 5

– A caller reported a vehicle smoking out cars with its exhaust in the drive-thru at Taco Bell. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Big Lots on Lancaster Pike. The scene checked OK.

– A resident came to the police station to report she was unable to locate her military ID and insurance card. Information was obtained.

– An officer performed a stand-by as health department employees delivered nuisance letters in the 500 block of East Franklin Street.

– Officers responded to reports of a break-in in the 100 block of Cottage Hill Lane. The health department was contacted and arrived on the scene. The caller advised damage to the residence was caused by a recent owner and his son, and officers advised him of the civil issue.

– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious female acting confused near the dumpsters at Ohio Heights. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– A resident in the 13000 block of Tarlton Road reported his 6-year-old had been bitten by a dog. A report was taken on a dog bite.

– A Stoutsville resident reported a drunk driver nearly caused an accident in the parking lot at Hardee’s, then got out of the vehicle and stumbled across Main Street into a bar. Officers advised the back door of the vehicle was left open, and they provide extra patrol in the area.

– A 911 caller reported a male and female were fighting in the 400 block of Watt Street, and the male threw the female to the ground twice. A second caller in the 300 block of Watt Street reported a similar incident. The subjects were located, and a report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A caller reported a male who appeared to be drunk at the South Court Car Wash. The male was escorted to his residence and left with a sober party. He was advised regarding disorderly conduct.

– Officers responded to reports of a male and female walking with two small children and arguing in the area of South Scioto and West Main streets. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– A caller reported two large black dogs were loose in the 100 block of West Corwin Street and chasing people down the road. Officers were unable to locate the dogs.

– A caller reported a female was running down North Pickaway Street from Berger Hospital in a hospital gown and blanket, being followed by a male wearing dark clothing. The caller advised the subjects tried to jump into her vehicle, and she thought it was suspicious. Officers located the female, who advised she didn’t have a jacket and was in a hurry to get home. The scene checked OK.

– Officers impounded a vehicle that was parked in the crosswalk and up on the sidewalk in the area of South Court and East Franklin streets.

– A caller reported he was driving down the alley in the 100 block of Walnut Street, and a male subject was urinating out the back door of his trailer. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Main Street reported she was arguing with another female, and the subject grabbed her cell phone, threw it to the ground and stomped on it. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

February 6

– A 911 caller on McCullough Avenue reported she requested a known subject to leave the residence but she refused. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A caller reported hearing what sounded like five gunshots in the area of Genesis on Atwater Avenue, and she believed they came from the area of Wilson Avenue or somewhere nearby. An officer also reported hearing five gunshots from the Sheriff’s Office parking lot. Officers were unable to locate the source of the sounds.

– A caller from the Main Street Pub reported three subjects in a Ford 150 had been causing problems at the business, leaving and returning to the area three times. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Another caller then reported he was assaulted at Main Street Pub by several individuals, but the caller was intoxicated and decided not to file a report.

– Officers responded as an agency assist to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office on an activated alarm at Sonic on South Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– A caller requested officers check the 100 block of Hayward Street for possible prowlers because dogs were barking and don’t usually do so. Officers were unable to locate anything suspicious in the area.

– Shawn R. O’Dell was arrested for OVI and possession following a traffic stop at East Union and South Court streets.

– A caller in the 100 block of York Street reported she was being harassed by a known female subject who kept circling the block, honking the horn and yelling. The vehicle returned a short time later, and officers made a traffic stop, advising the female not to return to the area.

– A caller reported a reckless driver in the area of South Court and Main streets. Officers performed a field sobriety test on the driver and determined he checked OK but the vehicle was badly disabled. The driver advised he would park it.

– A caller reported he passed a heavily-damaged parked car at Nicholas Drive and Avon Drive that appeared to have been struck overnight. A report was taken on a hit-skip accident.

– A caller in the 700 block of South Court Street requested an officer because she was being kicked out of a residence. All items were returned to the owner, and the parties were advised it was a civil issue.

– Officers advised of a disabled vehicle parked in the 100 block of Reber Avenue. The owner advised it was on a list to be repossessed, and officers were unable to make contact with the finance company. The vehicle was impounded.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Tractor Supply on U.S. Route 23. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to a 911 call from Homeland Credit Union on U.S. Route 23. The scene checked OK.

– An officer advised finding a spoon with burnt residue in the 100 block of East Main Street. Officers determined it was not narcotic-related.

– An Ashville resident reported someone struck her car and left the scene in the parking lot at Kroger on Lancaster Pike.

– A resident in the 400 block of Half Avenue reported two juveniles age 10 to 12 kicked in her back door and tried to gain entry, but when they realized someone was home, they ran toward Renick Avenue. Extra patrol was requested.

– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported being harassed by a known female through text, email and Facebook. A report was taken.

– An employee at Kroger on Lancaster Pike reported a male stole about 10 packs of meat from the store. A report was taken on theft.

– Officers responded to reports of loud music in the 100 block of Pontious Lane. Officers were unable to locate the source.

– A resident in the 500 block of Springhollow Road reported she believed someone was inside her detached garage. The scene checked OK.

– Officers performed a well-being check in the 100 block of Walnut Street. The subject checked OK.

– A caller reported the smell of smoke in the 100 block of Logan Street. An officer in the area searched for the source for about 10 minutes before locating an unattended cooking fire in a back yard. The resident was advised of city ordinance and extinguished the fire.

February 7

– An employee at Tootle’s on East Main Street reported a male and female were refusing to leave the business and were threatening the staff. Officers advised it was a misunderstanding between the subjects and employees, and the subjects were sent on their way.

– A 911 caller reported her boyfriend had been drinking and they were arguing in the 1200 block of South Pickaway Street. The male left prior to the officer’s arrival. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– An employee of Berger Hospital reported three males and a female had been standing between the doors of the main lobby for a while with backpacks and appeared to be suspicious. The officer made contact with the subjects’ parents.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol advised a semi with a gas trailer was leaking gas on state Route 188 and may be headed into the city. The vehicle was stopped in front of Mary Virginia Crites-Hannan Park. The officer advised it was liquid oxygen, not gas, and the scene checked OK.

– A 911 caller reported her daughter was being stalked by a known subject. A report was taken.

– A homeless man came to the police station to report his medication was stolen in the 600 block of East Main Street. A report was taken on theft.

– Officers impounded a vehicle with tags that expired in April of 2015 following a traffic stop in the 800 block of East Main Street.

– A resident in the 200 block of Westwood Drive advised a home alarm was activated, and an unfamiliar vehicle was parked in front of her residence with one person inside. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A 911 caller reported a woman was carjacked in the Kroger parking lot, then later advised it was actually a purse-snatching. A report was taken on robbery.

– Officers performed a well-being check in the 1200 block of South Pickaway Street. The subject checked OK.

– A resident in the 400 block of Stella Avenue reported two juveniles were fighting in the roadway due to an ongoing neighbor dispute. A report was taken.

– A caller advised an intoxicated male was driving in the area of Mowrer Road. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A resident in the 200 block of Huston Street reported a known subject pushed her and struck her car multiple times with a closed fist attempting to break her windows. Officers located the subject at Little Bear Market, and a report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 100 block of Hayward Street after a caller reported a disturbance or argument had occurred in the area.

February 8

– A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of East Mill Street. Officers located the vehicle and reported the driver checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Donatos on Lancaster Pike. The call was canceled by the alarm company.

– A caller requested an officer check the 1200 block of Dunhurst Street after his aunt advised someone was on the front porch rattling the door handle. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 400 block of North Pickaway Street. The call was canceled by the alarm company.

– A resident in the 200 block of South Pickaway Street reported a female punched him in the face, and he would like an officer to go speak with her. The male had a minor cut on his upper gum but declined medical attention.

– A caller reported finding pills behind the Fifth-Third Bank on East Main Street. Officers advised the pills checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of Barry Drive reported her medication was missing. A report was taken on theft.

– A caller reported power lines were down in the roadway in the 100 block of York Street. AEP was contacted and handled the scene.

– An employee at R.L. Collins Company reported they were being continuously contacted by a known female, and they advised her to stop calling them and to contact their attorney. The subject was advised to stop contacting the business.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Keynes Bros. on South Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of South Scioto Street reported her son’s former friends were sending them threatening messages due to a prior incident. Officers attempted contact with the parties sending messages but were unable to locate.

– A resident in the 400 block of Lancaster Pike requested an officer stand-by as they retrieved property from a former residence. A 911 caller later advised two subjects were outside arguing at the apartment, and both parties were warned about disorderly conduct.

– A resident in the 400 block of Stella Avenue reported a group of juveniles were vandalizing his vehicle. Extra patrol was requested.

– A Chillicothe resident reported her nephew was receiving harassing messages from someone in Circleville. Officers advised her to file a report in Chillicothe or Ross County.

– A resident in the 400 block of South Court Street reported her ex and some family members were circling the block while she was trying to pack her belongings. Information was obtained, and extra patrol was requested.

– A Chillicothe resident came to the police station to report his ex was packing belongings of her and their sons to move out of town, and there was a court order that she cannot do that. The officer advised it was a civil issue.

– A resident in the 1200 block of South Pickaway Street requested to speak with an officer for information about preventing a juvenile from running away.

– A resident in the 2300 block of East Main Street reported her husband stole money from her back account without consent. Officers advised it was a civil issue.

– Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call on Alma Avenue. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to a 911 call in which the caller advised his son was playing with the phone and accidentally dialed 911. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of East Main Street. The subject checked OK.

– A resident in the 700 block of South Court Street reported a female was residing with him, and he asked her to leave but she would not. The subject was advised it was a civil issue.

– A caller reported white smoke coming from a residence at the corner of East Union and Mingo streets. Officers advised the smoke was coming from the chimney, and the scene checked OK.

– A 911 caller in the 300 block of East Franklin Street reported she has a protection order against a subject who had been calling and threatening to come to the residence. A report was taken.
