Carolyn Mae (Callihan) Harper, 75, of Circleville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 29, 1940, in New Boston, the daughter of the late Robert O. and Marietta (Wilson) Callihan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents; her brother, Bobby Callihan; and sister, Sharma Hunter.

Carolyn was a 1958 graduate of Circleville High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She worked at GE in Circleville for seven years and then retired from DeLong Insurance Agency in 2007 after 22 years of service.

Carolyn loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her two grandchildren whom she adored. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving family: husband and caregiver of 56 years, Thomas Allen Harper; daughter, Tonda (Kevin) MacDonald; grandchildren, Ian Thomas and Aidan Mae MacDonald; sister, Debbie (Phil) Stevens; brother-in-law, Jay Hunter; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Aaron (Anita) Harper and Larry (Donna) Harper; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at the funeral home.

The family thanks everyone who helped in any way during Carolyn’s extended illness, especially Berger Hospice; Dr. John Bohlen; Chaplain Jim Ferrell; Roger Schneider; and dear friend, Linda Davis.
