Madonna Maxine Hoagland, 88, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 12:58 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at her residence following a six month illness.
She was born June 4, 1927, in Jay County, Indiana, to the late William and Rena Le Fevre McEwen.
On May 3, 1946, she married Carl D. Hoagland, who died March 22, 2009.
Surviving are children, Kathy Brizendine of Chillicothe, James (Marge) Hoagland of Circleville, Kris (John) Rollins of Scott Depot, West Virginia, and Mark (Kathy) Hoagland of Frankfort; grandchildren, Merideth Hoagland, Randy (Miriah) Hoagland, Kara (Ryan) Angus, Hillary (Jordan) Furbish, Shawn Hoagland, Joel (Meghan) Rollins, James (Anna) Rollins, Jothan Rollins, Drew Hoagland and Chloe (Wil) Watson; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Robert (Barbara) McEwen of Dunkirk, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maxine was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, in the Calvary Baptist Church with her son-in-law, Pastor John Rollins, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
