Melvin Lewis Disbennett, 80, of Kingston, went to be with Jesus in Heaven at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, following an extended illness.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1935, in Hocking County, to Harry and Wilma (Steele) Disbennett.
He married Martha Jane Lee on April 6, 1957, who survives.
Melvin retired from Buckeye Shape and Form. He enjoyed quality time with his family, fishing, watching westerns, and he loved animals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Dale Disbennett.
Melvin is survived by his wife; daughter, Lisa (Rob) Jenkins of Kingston; grandchildren, Jeremy (Rachel) Disbennett, Bobby (Kacey) Jenkins and Tiffany (Dustin) Molebash, all of Kingston; great-grandchildren, Destiny Reeser of Kentucky, Jeremy Disbennett Jr., Gavin Smith and Lukas Jenkins of Kingston; brother, Marvin (Lavonna) Disbennett; sisters, Donna (Jim) Thornton and Helen Bradford; and by sister-in-law, Tina Disbennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at the Wellman Funeral Home with Pastor James Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in Meade Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
