Agnes E. Griffith, age 85, of Lancaster, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Amanda Township, daughter of the late John E. and Susanne (Rinehart) Young.
Agnes was a member of Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church since 1968. She loved flowers and birds and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Agnes was filled with love that she freely shared with all of her friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Debra E. (Darrell A.) Ruff of Dayton and Ralph A. (Jennifer Y.) Griffith of Lancaster; grandchildren, Joshua (Bridgette), Jeremiah and Josiah (Alison) Ruff, Drew, Riley and Ashley Griffith; great-grandchildren, Josephine, Bella, Emmanuel, Abigail and Cora Ruff; sister, Alberta Roberts of Sugar Grove; brothers, Harry James Young of Lancaster and Carl Young of Amanda; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph J. Griffith; brothers, George and Robert Young; and sisters, Mary Sayre, Myrtle Griffith and Jean Wilson.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Sheridan Funeral Home, Lancaster, with Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
