PICKAWAY – Pickaway County Sheriff with aid from a Ohio State Trooper were in a pursuit from a call of a reckless operation on US23.

Around 5:58 a 911 call came in with a person driving a Dodge Dakota on US 23 driving erratically.

On 12-18-2019 at 0602 hours, Pickaway County Sheriff was dispatched to
US-23 northbound on a complaint on a vehicle splitting traffic and running vehicles off the roadway. This unit was able to pull out behind the vehicle at Fletcher’s. A Pickaway Ohio State Trooper also came to aid just south of the Court Street exit. Due to traffic, they were unable to get directly behind the vehicle until they got to Little Walnut Road.

The Trooper had an opening in traffic where he was able to get behind the silver Dodge Dakota and activate his overhead emergency lights. After activating his overhead lights, the Dakota almost rear-ended the vehicle in front of him. The vehicle refused to stop from Little Walnut Road to Bloomfield Hills Estates.

According to the report both the Trooper and the Sheriff had lights and sirens on attempting to get the truck to stop. The Trooper was able to get in front of the vehicle
and force the stop, and the Pickaway Sheriff pulled up behind and both units were able to box them in.

Ohio State Trooper, at gunpoint, was able to get the driver, Justin
Stubbs, out of the vehicle. A passenger was also pulled out of the passenger side.

During the search a clear plastic cellophane in a cigarette pack that was located on Justin’s person at the beginning of the stop. Inside the baggie was a clear, crystal-like substance.

There was a brown, female dog in the car and I transported it
to the Pickaway County Dog Shelter.

Stubbs who was arrested at the scene was charged with, possession of drugs 1,11, Open container, Illegal use or possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia, OVI, Operating a motor vehicle without a valid drivers license, No seat belt, Driving in marked lanes, no tail lights, and Failure to comply with order or signal of P.O.
