In a puzzling turn of events, Sidney Police Officer Kiarra Kennedy responded to a peculiar discovery at the Sidney Walmart located at 2400 W Michigan Street on February 18, 2024. The report indicated the finding of an amputated finger in the store’s parking lot.

Upon arriving at the scene, Officer Kennedy recovered the severed appendage, prompting swift action from investigators. The finger, initially suspected to be of human origin, was later confirmed by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office to indeed belong to a human, likely a white female. Despite extensive inquiries, medical providers have been unable to establish any connection between the finger and recent patients.

While the Sidney Police Department has not uncovered evidence suggesting foul play in the finger’s dismemberment, the circumstances surrounding its presence in the parking lot remain shrouded in mystery. Consequently, the case remains open, awaiting any breakthrough in the investigation.

In a plea for assistance, Captain J A Tangeman of the Sidney Police Department urges the public to come forward with any information regarding the incident. Individuals with relevant details are encouraged to contact the Sidney Police Department at 937-498-2351 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 937-492-8477 (TIPS).

The community awaits anxiously as authorities continue to unravel the enigmatic circumstances surrounding this bizarre discovery.
