OHIO – Just after the holidays everyone feels a little spent, after buying gifts for just about everyone in your family it would be nice to find some money that you have forgotten about?

You may want to skip looking for loose change in the couch and go through the state’s Division of Unclaimed Funds.

The Ohio government is holding monies for hundreds of thousands of Ohioans collectively owed around 2 to 3 million. Most of the claims are based on settled lawsuits from companies, security or utility deposits; uncashed checks or money left in forgotten savings accounts since closed by banks for inactivity; or uncashed insurance policies.

Finding money is simple as putting in your first and last name and then reading the results. Making a claim is almost as easy also, you never know you may find hundreds of dollars.
