CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Waffle House is officially coming to Circleville, there has been talk of this late night eatery to come for years, including rumors of development in South Bloomfield, but it seems they have locked in.
The iconic 24/7 American diner chain has announced plans to build a new restaurant in the green space across from Buffalo Wild Wings along the city’s busy commercial corridor. A building permit has already been issued, and development is expected to begin soon.

Founded in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, Waffle House has become a Southern cultural staple, known for its around-the-clock service, affordable comfort food and open-kitchen atmosphere. The original location now operates as a museum honoring the brand’s history.
The chain is best known for its made-to-order breakfast offerings, including its signature pecan waffles, customizable hashbrowns — famously ordered “scattered, smothered, covered” — and the popular All-Star Special. While breakfast dominates the menu, Waffle House also serves Texas bacon, egg and cheese melts, T-bone steaks and other diner classics.
With more than 1,900 locations primarily in the South, the restaurant has built a reputation for staying open 365 days a year — even during severe weather events. Its reliability during storms has become so well-known that the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, informally references the “Waffle House Index” to gauge the severity of natural disasters based on whether locations remain open.
Circleville residents can expect the same open-kitchen format and fast-paced, diner-style experience the chain is known for nationwide.
An official opening date has not yet been announced.
