Nelsonville OH- Caller Reported Possible Prostitute on Corner and Man Can’t be Arrested for Warrants Due to Open Wounds

06:09AM Officers responded to Mt St Mary’s Dr for a narcotics related complaint. The caller reported that there was a man who was possibly high on drugs at the Mary Hill Center. Officers located and spoke to the male individual. It was determined that the male had active warrants. The Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail was contacted but refused to accept the male due to having no bed space available. The male was advised to move along.

07:04AM Officers located Lowell Humphrey who was arrested for his active warrants and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

08:52AM Officers assisted a local towing company with traffic control while the business took possession of a vehicle in the middle of the road.

10:37AM Officers responded to E Canal St for a report of theft. The caller reported that license plates had been stolen off their truck that was parked to be worked on.

11:08AM Officers responded to Riverside Dr to drop off charges to an individual.

12:26PM Officers responded to Pleasentview Ave for a request of a well-being check. Officers made contact with the child and her mother.

12:51PM Officers responded to Jackson St for a report of vandalism. The caller reported that someone put something in her gas tank and admitted to it in a text message. A report was taken.

01:53PM Officers performed a vehicle stop on E Canal St. The driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning for a turn signal violation, then released.

02:41PM Officers responded to Blackburn Home Furnishings on E Canal St for an activated alarm.

02:50PM Officers performed a vehicle stop on E Canal St. Due to criminal indicators that were observed during the traffic stop, K9 Attila was released to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle to which Attila positively indicated on the vehicle. A search revealed methamphetamine, a meth pipe, and scales. Leslie Koon was issued a citation for Driving Under Suspension. A local towing company was requested to the scene and the vehicle was towed.

03:44PM Officers responded to W Columbus St for a follow up investigation after seeing a vehicle that had fled from them previously. Officers were given permission to search the residence. Officers requested a local towing company to the scene; the vehicle was towed, and a hold was placed on the vehicle until the owner speaks with Officers.

04:57PM Officers had an individual come into the PD to speak with them. It was determined that the male had active warrants. Due to open wounds on the person in question, the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail would not accept him without being medically cleared. The male individual was advised of his warrant and told to arrive to court the following morning.

05:20PM Officers responded to W Washington St for a report of a suspicious person. The caller reported a suspicious female on the corner of Franklin St near Fruth Pharmacy who was believed to possibly be a prostitute. Officers patrolled the area and surrounding areas but had negative contact at this time.

05:26PM Officers responded to Jackson St for a report of a parking complaint.

05:31PM Officers responded to W Canal St for a narcotics related complaint. The caller reported a person in a van that seemed to be under the influence. The van and occupants had left prior to the Officers arrival; however, Officers were able to locate the van and occupants. It was noted that no signs of intoxication were seen. Both male occupants were advised of their warrants and told to show up to court the following morning.

06:13PM Officers responded to JLE Dr for a narcotics related complaint. A call reporting a male individual with symptoms of an overdose was at urgent care. The male was responsive and advised that he took “ICE” but didn’t know how much. EMS was requested to the scene and the male was transported to a local hospital for care.

06:29PM Officers responded to JLE Dr to assist an individual who was experiencing vehicle trouble.

06:44PM Officers responded to Chestnut St to assist the Perry County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation. Officers spoke to the residence of the address and the information that was provided was relayed to the PCSO.

07:56PM Officers responded to St Rt 691 for an investigative complaint of reports of gun shots in the area.

10:11PM Officers responded to Myers St for an investigative complaint. Negative contact was made with the person of interest at this time.

11:10PM Officers responded to Myers St for a report of a 911 hang up call. Officers made contact with the individuals at the residence who stated that everything was fine.
