CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Several theft investigations, a counterfeit currency complaint, and a warrant-related incident were among the calls handled by the Chillicothe Police Department on Aug. 5, 2026, according to the department’s daily media report.
Officers responded to multiple theft complaints throughout the day, including an investigation reported at a business location on East Fifth Street near Centennial Boulevard. Police said the theft complaint remains under investigation.
Later in the afternoon, officers were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Complex regarding a reported theft of a credit card. A separate theft investigation was also reported at a residence in the 300 block of McKeller Street, where officers took a report.
Police also responded to another theft-related call on North Paint Street. The report was documented, though no additional details were released.
At approximately 7:36 p.m., officers were called to Five Below on North Bridge Street after a report that a woman allegedly attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill. Police listed the incident as criminal simulation involving the alleged forging, altering, or counterfeiting of currency. The investigation remains ongoing.
Later that evening, officers responded to Yoctangee Park for a report of a suspicious person. The incident resulted in a warrant-related entry on the police report.
