WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Circleville man was hospitalized Sunday evening after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a residential yard along Stoutsville Pike.
According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol crash report, 48-year-old Kevin L. Jirles was traveling westbound on County Road 40 (Stoutsville Pike) on a 1996 black Honda Shadow ACE around 7:38 p.m. on August 30, 2026.
Trooper Dakota Howard reported that Jirles lost control while negotiating a curve near Township Road 72. The motorcycle went off the right side of the road, struck a divot in the terrain, and came to rest in a yard.
Jirles sustained suspected serious injuries in the crash. First responders from Clear Creek Township EMS (Unit 512) transported him to OhioHealth Berger Hospital in Circleville for treatment.
The crash report noted that Jirles was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, nor did he hold a valid motorcycle endorsement on his driver’s license. No other vehicles were involved.
Following the preliminary investigation, state troopers cited Jirles with operating a vehicle without reasonable control (Ohio Revised Code § 4511.202).
