ASHVILLE – An armed standoff has ended with the suspect in the standoff situation being shot by multiple officers. Law enforcement has erected crime scene tape around the scene, and one body has been covered with a white sheet.
According to video recieved by the Scioto Post, which will posted later, and scanner traffic, police tried multiple times to have the gunman give himself up. Police witnessed a gun in the car during the standoff. According to reports, police attempted to neutralize the man with a taser and he was able to fight through the taser and drive off in his car.
Around 6:35 Multiple gunshots were fired on the scene on Long Street in Ashville Ohio, and shortly after police stated the event was a code 16. Our reporter on the scene, Brandon, witnessed a body of a man covered in a white sheet.
Social media has reported that the suspect may have posted statements immediately prior to the chase and standoff that he would attempt to engage in a high-speed chase with law enforcement. We will have further updates on the story as new information becomes available.
