Man Arrested after Aiming Laser Pointer at Ohio State Highway Patrol Aircraft

OHIO – A Dayton man was arrested and facing charges after pointing a laser at a helicopter last week.

According to a press release from OSP the incident happened in Dayton on Friday, July 2, around 11 pm.

According to the video, the Highway Patrol was able to identify the source of the laser from the repeated time the man shot the laser at the helicopter. The operator then contacted local police for an arrest.

Pointing lasers at aircraft is a federal crime and can be subject to fines up to 250,000 dollars and up to five years behind bars.
