Columbus – Major damage to a downtown Bridge has closed a major route in Columbus and will affect your commute if you are heading to the capital city this week.
The westbound lanes of I-70 remain closed in downtown Columbus after a semi-hauling a large excavator struck the 4th Street overpass Saturday afternoon. The impact caused significant structural damage to at least one beam supporting the deck of the bridge.
Other closures due to the crash include the ramp from I-71 southbound to I-70 westbound and 4th Street at I-70.
