Mike Whitten, the Chair of the Pickaway County Republican Central Committee, and his “financial backers” are executing a monstrous hoax on the Republican voters of Pickaway County.
FACT 1: The elected members of the Pickaway County Republican Central Committee did NOT vote to endorse any candidate. The minutes of the previous meetings prove this. Please also note that November 30, 2023 was their last regular meeting, before any candidacy was official.
FACT 2: The Pickaway County Republican Central Committee likes to use the names “Pickaway County Republican Party” or “Pickaway County GOP” as substitutes for their formal and official name.
FACT 3: At the Lincoln Day Dinner at Heritage Hall
on Thursday, February 29, 2024, this logo ———– >
was on the cloth tablecloth covering the head table.
So, it is not surprising that some Pickaway County
voters, when they see this same logo on a postcard
mailed to their home, might mistakenly assume it is an official endorsement by the Pickaway County Republican Central Committee. It is NOT !! It is a DIRTY TRICK !!
FACT 4: There NEVER WAS any vote on any endorsement by the Pickaway County Republican Central Committee for any Republican candidate, including any candidate for Pickaway County Republican Central Committee.
FACT 5: There NEVER WAS any “SLATE CARD”.authorized by vote of the members of the Pickaway County Republican Central Committee.
FACT 6: The names “Pickaway County Republican Party” and “Pickaway County GOP” are tradenames registered with the Ohio Secretary of State and both are owned by America First Now, a Pickaway County-based conservative club whose meetings are open to the public.
America First Now anticipated Whitten’s deception (he’d done it before) and purchased these tradenames to prevent their inappropriate use. America First Now has not and will not use these tradenames. The Pickaway County Republican Central Committee should use their proper and official name to avoid any mistake.
The Pickaway County Republican Central Committee should NOT endorse anyone without the vote of the members.
As Chair of the Pickaway County Republican Central Committee, it is Whitten’s responsibility to ensure that the Republican brand is not used to deceive Pickaway voters.
