Lawrence E. Cordell age 93 of Columbus passed away Jan 30, 2024. He was born May 12, 1930 to his parents the late Buck and Ida May Elliot Cordell. He served in active combat during the Korean War as part of the U.S. Army. His professional career was varied working as a builder, a broker for Cordell Realty, and also retired from Rockwell Intl. He met his wife to be Phyllis Legg and started their family. He is preceded in death by children, Larry Cordell, Tammy Grant, and Jerry Cordell. Survived by loving wife, Phyllis; grandchildren, Kim (Daron) Mosley, Christina (Travis) Woods, Cassie Detillion, Mitchell Cordell, Mallory Cordell and Morgan Cordell; beloved great grandchildren, Noah, Aharon, Aliyah, Ty, Matthew, Naomi, Wyatt, Katelynn, Erika, Eli and Tori. Many nieces, nephews and a special niece Tina (George). Friends may call at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. FUNERAL HOME, 1346 S. High St. Sunday February 4, 2024 from 2 to 5 PM and visitation Monday 11AM until the time of funeral service at 1 PM. Interment at Heavenly Hills Cemetery.
