FAIRFIELD – A overnight fire has a home in a total loss, two children injured and a man dead.
This morning around 1 am firefighters were called to 7985 Lancaster-Circleville Road for the report of a structure fire. When firefighters arrived on scene they found the structure partially engulfed in flames.
Firefighters transported two children with minor injuries to a local hospital, mother of the children was unharmed, but a man wasn’t found immediately.
Crews searched for that man, but damage to the homes structural support has caused the search to be slowed inside the building. Around 11 am reports surfaced that a body was found within the structure. We will hold the name of the man until law enforcement releases it.
Early reports say that the man died saving his family from the fire, we are working to confirm this.
Ohio Fire Marshall’s office and the Red Cross are on the scene now
