Hocking County Sheriff Lanny E. North reports:

February 27, 2022 Deputies responded to Gore Greendale Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a male and female got into an altercation. Deputies spoke to all parties involved and later arrested the male subject for domestic violence. He was later transported to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail.

February 27, 2022 Deputies responded to Goat Run Honey Fork Road to a report of a possible verbal domestic violence. It was reported that a male and female subject were in a verbal argument. Deputies spoke to the parties involved and gave them options to resolve their dispute.

February 27, 2022 Deputies responded to Thompson Road to a report of an accidental shooting. It was reported that a ten (10) year old boy had been accidentally hit by a ricochet when he was target practicing with his parent. The juvenile was transported to Berger Hospital for treatment. Deputies and Detectives determined the incident was accidental.

February 27, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to State Route 595 to a subject in a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the female subject and her family members. The female was transported to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital for treatment.

February 27, 2022 Deputies responded to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital to a report of a disturbance between two subjects. It was reported that one subject may have been in a mental health crisis. The male subject involved had left the scene. Deputies later located the male subject in the City of Logan and after speaking to him he was transported back to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for mental health treatment.

February 28, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 180 to a report of theft. It was reported that a medical prescription was stolen. The victim stated a medicine was to be delivered via Fed Ex. Deputies made contact with Fed Ex and they stated the package was signed for by the homeowner. The victim disputes this claim. The victim was advised a report would be on file.

February 28, 2022 Deputies responded to Walnut Dowler Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a physical altercation occurred between a female and a male subject. It was discovered that the female had warrants for her arrest. She was arrested and taken to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail for violating a protection order.

February 28, 2022 Deputies responded to Bear Run Road to a report of an unruly juvenile. It was reported that a juvenile ran away from his residence. Deputies spoke to the juvenile’s grandparents. He was later located and released to another family member.

March 1, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 664S to a report of a disturbance. It was reported that an argument occurred between a male and a female. Deputies spoke to both parties and help resolve their issues and advised them to separate for the evening.

March 1, 2022 Deputies responded to Frasure Helber Road to a report of a neighbor dispute. It was reported that a neighbor put gravel onto the complainant’s driveway. Deputies spoke to both parties and were able to resolve their issues.

March 1, 2022 Deputies responded to the intersection of State Route 278 and State Route 595 to a report of aggravating menacing complaint. It was reported that a road rage incident occurred between two subjects and a firearm was brandished, It was stated the subject fired towards the complainant’s vehicle. A description of the suspect’s vehicle was given but was unable to be located. The incident is still under investigation.

March 1, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a male subject who was brought in having a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the subject and he later spoke to a mental health counselor.

March 1, 2022 Deputies responded to Garfield Street to a report of an unruly juvenile. It was reported that a female juvenile ran away from her residence. Deputies later located the juvenile and returned her to a family member.

March 1, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a report of a highly intoxicated female. The female was very belligerent and had to be sedated by hospital staff. She was later released and was issued a citation for disorderly conduct by Logan Police Department.

March 2, 2022 Deputies responded to Old McArthur Road to a report of an assault. It was reported a group of juveniles assaulted another juvenile. Deputies spoke to the parties involved. The parents were advised charges are going to be filed with the Hocking County Prosecutors Office.

March 2, 2022 Deputies responded to Main Street in Laurelville to a report of a violation of a protection order. It was reported that a female’s ex-boyfriend violated a protection order by contacting her while in the L&J’s gas station and then followed them into Ross County. Charges were filed with the Hocking County Prosecutors Office for violation of a protection order.

March 3, 2022 Deputies responded to Deible Road to a report of criminal trespass. It was reported that several subjects were trespassing on the victim’s property. No subjects were located and the victim was advised a report would be on file.

March 3, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking County Courthouse to a female subject who was in a mental health crisis. The female was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for mental health treatment.

March 4, 2022 Deputies responded to Second Street in Union Furnace to a report of disorderly conduct. It was reported that an argument occurred between two subjects. Deputies spoke to the parties involved and advised them to separate for the evening.

March 4, 2022 Deputies responded to Carbon Hill Buchtel Road to a report of a burglary. It was reported that the victim’s residence had been broken into and several items were stolen. The incident is still under investigation.

March 4, 2022 Deputies responded to Parkway Drive to a report of a subject in a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the female subject. Family members arrived on the scene to take her to seek mental health treatment.

March 4, 2022 Deputies responded to Homer Street to a report of verbal domestic. It was reported that a father and son had a verbal argument. Deputies spoke to both parties and advised a report would be on file.

March 4, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a female subject in a mental health crisis. It was reported the female attempted to jump out of a vehicle while it was driving down US33. It was discovered the female was also intoxicated. She later received mental health treatment.

March 5, 2022 Deputies responded to Mowery Lehman Road to a report of a suicide. It was reported that a male subject had a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Personnel from the Hocking County Emergency Services responded to the scene as well. Investigators from the Hocking County Coroner’s Office responded as well. The subject was later released to a funeral home.

March 5, 2022 Deputies responded to Stuart Road to a report of criminal mischief. It was reported a subject parked their vehicle in the ditch of the victim, causing damage. The victim requested the responsible party come to fix the ditch. Deputies made contact with the responsible party and they agreed to fix the damages.

March 5, 2022 Deputies responded to Schrader Road to a report of a theft. It was reported that a chainsaw was stolen from the victim. The incident is still under investigation.

March 5, 2022 Deputies responded to Garfield Street in Laurelville to a report of an unruly juvenile. It was reported that a female juvenile got into an argument with her mother. Deputies spoke to the parties involved and told the juvenile she was not to leave the residence.

March 6, 2022 A victim of domestic violence came into the Sheriff’s Office to file a report. The victim stated she was assaulted by her husband while they were on State Route 93N. She reported her husband had left her and went back to their residence in northern Ohio. Evidence was collected and pictures of the victim’s injuries were taken. Charges were filed through the Hocking County Prosecutors Office for domestic violence and assault.

March 6, 2022 Deputies responded to Maple Street in Laurelville to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a juvenile son was arguing with his stepfather. It was discovered during the investigation that the juvenile had in his possession a bottle of liquor. The liquor was seized and the incident was forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutors Office for review.

March 6, 2022 Deputies responded to Parkway Drive to a report of a female subject in a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the female and she stated she was going to contact her doctors in the morning.

March 6, 2022 Deputies responded to Deible Road to a report of criminal trespass. It was reported that a male and female subject were on the property of the victim possibly loading items up in a truck. When Deputies arrived, the subjects ran into the woods. They were later apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The incident is still under investigation.

March 6, 2022 The Hocking County Dog Warden responded to State Route 93S to a dog running at large. It was reported that a dog attacked a neighbors cat. The cat sustained serious injuries and had to be euthanized as a result. The owner of the dog was issued a citation for Dogs Running at Large.

March 7, 2022 Deputies responded to Falls Street to a report of a possible suicide. It was reported that a male at the residence took prescription medication and was not responding. Members from the Hocking County Emergency Services arrived on the scene and were able to revive the subject. He was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for treatment.

March 7, 2022 Deputies responded to Potter Ridge Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported a female assaulted her boyfriend. Deputies spoke to both parties involved. The female subject was arrested for domestic violence and assault. She was transported to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail.

March 7, 2022 Deputies responded to East Fork Road to a report of a littering complaint. It was reported there were numerous trash bags along the roadway. Deputies collected evidence and the incident is under investigation.

March 8, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a report of a male subject in a mental health crisis. It was reported that Logan Police Department brought the subject in for evaluation due to his behavior. The subject received treatment and was later transferred to another facility.

March 8, 2022 Deputies responded to Narrows Road to a report of a theft. It was reported that trees were stolen off the victim’s property. The victim contacted the Ohio Department of Natural Resources about the incident and they requested him to file a report. The incident is still under investigation.

March 9, 2022 Deputies responded to Haydenville Road to a report of breaking and entering. It was reported that someone is entering the victim’s home that he does not reside in. The suspects are causing damage to the interior of the residence. The incident is still under investigation.

March 9, 2022 Deputies assigned to Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to Norwood Apartments to assist with an overdose. The female subject involved was later medically treated and transported to another facility for mental health.

March 10, 2022 Deputies responded to Dupler Road to a report of a motor vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle struck a tree and was then left abandoned. The vehicle was impounded and the incident remains under investigation.

March 10, 2022 Deputies responded to Sams Creek Road to a report of disorderly conduct. It was reported a female juvenile was being unruly. Deputies spoke to the mother and the juvenile. The incident is being referred to Hocking County Children Services for review.

March 10, 2022 Deputies responded to Reed Road to a report of an unruly juvenile. It was reported that an argument occurred between a father and son. Deputies spoke to all the parties involved and all agreed to stay away from each other for the night.

March 10, 2022 Deputies responded to Crawford Road to a report of a burglary. It was reported that a female subject entered a residence without permission. Deputies located the female and initiated a field interview. After she admitted to entering the address she also admitted to having narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia on her person. The female was arrested and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.

March 11, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 664 to a report of a dog running at large. It was reported several dogs attacked a cat. The cat succumbed to its injuries. The incident was forwarded to the Hocking County Dog Warden.

March 11, 2022 Deputies responded to Zeller Road to a report of a burglary. It was reported that an unknown male entered a residence while the homeowners were upstairs in bed. The male homeowner told the suspect at gunpoint to get out of his residence. The male suspect was located by another Deputy checking the area. The suspect was arrested and transported to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail.

March 11, 2022 Deputies responded to Dawley Road at the intersection of State Route 595 to a report of a suspicious vehicle. It was reported that a vehicle was stuck in the mud. Deputies made contact with the vehicle along with the driver and several occupants. One of the occupants had a warrant for his arrest and was later transported to the Sout Eastern Ohio Regional Jail. Hocking County Emergency Services were called to the scene to check out a female in medical distress. She was treated at the scene and it was discovered she also had a warrant out of Logan Police Department. She was later released to Logan Police Department. Another male subject was released at the scene to his bother. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

March 11, 2022 Deputies responded to Barker Road to a report of a burglary. It was reported that a residence was broken into while the owner was on vacation. Several items were stolen including a firearm and prescription narcotics. Evidence was collected and the firearm was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). The incident is still under investigation.

March 11, 2022 A victim came into the Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of theft. It was reported the victim’s information was obtained to get several loans. Evidence was collected and the incident is being forwarded to the Detective Bureau.

March 12, 2022 Deputies responded to East Fork Road to a report of an assault. It was reported that a male subject was struck by a vehicle while he was standing in the roadway. The victim received a small abrasion to his knee. Evidence was collected and statements were obtained. The incident is under investigation.

March 12, 2022 Deputies responded to Carbon Hill Buchtel Road to a report of a 911 hang-up call. It was discovered upon arrival that a domestic dispute occurred. Deputies spoke to the female subject that was involved. She stated there was an argument with her ex-boyfriend and he left the residence prior to the Deputies arrival. Contact was made with the male subject and he was advised to stay away from his ex-girlfriend.

March 12, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to State Route 328 to a report of a female subject in a possible mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the female involved and she was later taken to the Fairfield County Jail for a probation violation.
