Ashville, Ohio, January 2024 — The Harrison Township Division of Fire has received a Multi-Agency
Radio Communication System Grant from the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of State Fire
Marshal in the amount of $25,795.49 for 2024. The Multi-Agency Radio Communication System
(MARCS) is Ohio’s wireless, digital communication network for first responders, providing fiber optic
and microwave technology that enables state, local, and federal agencies to communicate instantly with
one another during public safety events. Harrison Township Fire Chief Shawn Davidson says, “The
technology we use to communicate across agencies is complicated and expensive. We are very
appreciative to the State of Ohio for making this grant available to us. We will be able to replace and add
radios and accessories that would have been difficult for us to obtain otherwise and by partnering with
MARCS, this will allow us to continue to better protect and serve to make a safer community.”
