PICKAWAY – United Way of Pickaway county has created a social distancing event around fall leaves and food this weekend.

On Saturday October 24, from 9 am to 2 pm at the Canal Park on Canal road just outside of Circleville United way will host the event. Parking will be done by the local boy scouts and four well known food trucks will be serving up their wares before or after your hike through fall colors.

This week is reported to be the height of the fall foliage experience with natures most prominent leaf colors before they fall.

“Around this time of year we usually do a Gala for United Way, but of course because of COVID-19 that couldn’t be hosted this year, said Jama Cobb, Executive Director, United Way of Pickaway County, “in place of that event we wanted to give the community something fun to do without a Pumpkin show and other events. This event promotes social distancing and the beauty of mother nature, with some fun Pumpkin show like food trucks!”

Food trucks will include Schmidt’s, M & S Grub Hub, Roadside LunchBox, and Pitabilites a local favorite.

Event is free to the public, but donation ticket highly encouraged as we launch our fall campaign to help nonprofits heading into 2021. Read the details here: https://www.pickuw.org/great-pumpkin-escape
Major Sponsors: Joseph & Joseph, DuPont, Brown Memorial Home, and Hummel & Plum Insurance (Gold Level donors)!
Event participation in the Great Pumpkin Escape is free, but the United Way welcomes your needed support for our partner programs that combat homelessness and domestic violence, provide needed education programs in the community, and food/shelter to our neighbors in need. Link below:
