Adams – A child has found himself without a mom and dad this week after a murder-suicide from an estranged husband.

On Wednesday violence erupted when  32-year-old husband, Jason Madden went to the Southern Ohio Lumber company in Adams county and opened fire on his soon-to-be ex-wife Rachel Madden, 33. He then left the scene and but a description of the vehicle and a known restraining order lead the Sheriff’s department to find the man a short time later. He was pulled over at the intersection of State Route 41 and 32 in Peebles, Ohio, where the man turned the gun on himself.

Since then a family has been working to figure out end-of-life financial plans in place for Rachel, and custody for their 12-year-old son. A family member Pastor Derek Bradshaw who is married to Rachels’s twin sister started a go fund me and posted it online. Just two days after the request the goal was, ” comfortably met.”

“we couldn’t be more thankful for your outpouring of love. As stated in the original post, any extra funds will be used to care for Eric, Rachel’s orphaned son, and his future. As these generous donations continue to pour in, our family is truly humbled and grateful to all of the donors and to God for working through all of you. Many continue to feel led to give above and beyond our original goal. Thank you for donating toward Rachel’s end-of-life needs. This campaign goal has been raised and continues now for Eric’s benefit..”

No information has been given to Rachels’s funeral yet. The go fund me is located here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/tragic-murdersuicide-rachel-stolpa-madden?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer
