Lancaster, OH – April 17th, 2023: The Fun Bus, a local specialty passenger transportation provider for over 25 years, announced today the launch of a new transportation option for the Friday Night Bandstand. Beginning on May 26th at 4 pm, the Fun Bus will operate a new 20-minute shuttle loop with multiple boarding locations throughout the downtown area. The new service will provide exciting, safe, and fashionable transportation and support Lancaster City Parks and Destination Downtown Lancaster.
Historically, many concert attendees trekked from parking lots and street parking on the fringes of downtown to the bandstand at 104 N Broad Street. Often, those attending would traverse several blocks loaded down with lawn chairs, coolers, blankets, and other concert supplies. The Fun Bus has developed a convenient transportation loop from seven locations in and out of downtown Lancaster. Boarding locations are designed to offer convenient street and lot parking options and serve nearby neighborhoods. Passengers will arrive at the corner of Wheeling & Broad streets just ½ block from the main attraction.
Concert-goers can embark on the trolley from any of the seven locations (listed below) with their lawn chairs, coolers, blankets, and other belongings starting at 4 pm. The shuttle will arrive at each location approximately every 20 minutes and will run until 11 pm every Friday night from May 26th until August 11th (Service will not be available on 8/4). All trolley passengers are encouraged to visit a few of the numerous downtown restaurants, bars, museums, and establishments before, during, and after the concerts. In case of inclement weather or a concert cancellation, the shuttle will continue to operate, providing transportation to downtown businesses.
The Fun Bus is offering a $35 season pass valid for the 10 concerts. Season passes are available for presale only and will not be available from the shuttle driver. A $5 single-day pass will be available for purchase upon boarding and on a presale basis. Children ages 5 and younger can ride for free! Drivers will accept exact change, credit card, or Venmo for same-day purchases. Both passes are valid for unlimited rides per night.
Season passes and single-night wristbands can be obtained in person by visiting The Fun Bus Terminal at 2188 E Main Street, Lancaster, OH 43130, or by calling 740-653-4600 from Monday to Friday between 6 am and 6 pm.
