CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Homeland Credit Union and the US Paper Mill are teaming up to host a free Community Trunk or Treat event later this month, offering local families a safe, festive space to kick off Halloween celebrations.
The community event is set for Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the US Paper Mill parking lot at 100 E. 8th St. in Chillicothe.
In addition to traditional trick-or-treating among decorated vehicles, the family-friendly evening will feature music from a live DJ and a selection of local food trucks on-site. Admission is free for all attendees, and families are encouraged to arrive in costume.
Event organizers are also inviting local businesses, community organizations, and individuals to register their own vehicles to distribute candy. Participating trunk hosts can enter for free and will compete for a $500 cash prize awarded to the best-decorated vehicle of the night.

“Trunk or Treat events provide a safe and enjoyable way for families to celebrate Halloween while bringing together local businesses, organizations, and community members,” said Briana Hood, Director of Marketing & Community Development for Homeland Credit Union. “We look forward to seeing the creativity of our trunk participants and creating lasting memories for local families.”
