Fairfield County Foundation Celebrates 35 Years of Making a Difference in the Community

Lancaster, Ohio – [Date] The Fairfield County Foundation is proud to announce a year-long celebration of its 35th anniversary in 2024. Since its inception in 1989, the Foundation has established a remarkable legacy of empowering local residents, businesses, and organizations to create positive change within the community.

Throughout its 35-year journey, the Foundation has fostered impactful giving by establishing 476 charitable funds, awarding nearly $44 million in grants and scholarships, and securing more than $66 million in contributions. As of February 2024, the Foundation boasts over $70 million in assets, a testament to its commitment to serving the community.

To commemorate this significant milestone, the Foundation has planned a special celebratory dinner in April. Furthermore, they will be collaborating with local non-profit fundholders throughout the year to provide a series of unique monthly gifts, totaling 35 each month, from April to December. These gifts are designed to benefit the individuals served by these organizations and enrich the community as a whole.

The lineup of these thoughtful monthly gifts includes:

  • April: Donation of 35 trees to beautify parks in Lancaster City and Fairfield County.
  • May: Distribution of 35 $10 gift cards to Keller Market House by Meals on Wheels of Fairfield County, bringing joy to local senior citizens.
  • June: Provision of 35 toys or gifts to The Lighthouse, spreading cheer to those they serve.
  • July: Distribution of 35 tickets to the Lancaster Festival by 2-1-1, ensuring local seniors have the opportunity to experience this cultural event.
  • August: Donation of 35 pairs of shoes to support the Charity Newsies clothes drive.
  • September: Funding for 35 spays/neuters at the Fairfield Area Humane Society, promoting responsible pet ownership.
  • October: Provision of 35 sponsorships for Dolly’s Imagination Library through the United Way of Fairfield County, fostering a love of reading in young children.
  • November: Distribution of 35 welcome baskets for homeless veterans by Lutheran Social Services, along with a $35,000 donation by the Foundation to local food pantries, addressing critical needs within the community.
  • December: Donation of 35 toys to Maywood Mission, coupled with a minimum $35,000 matching donation to support funds that received contributions during the upcoming 35-Hour Give event.
