Ethel Galloway, 76, of Williamsport passed away in the loving arms of her husband of 57 years on January 30, 2018 after 12 long years of battling cancer.  She was born on November 28, 1941 in Darbyville to William Harold and Cora Lavenia (Eddings) Gilmore.   She was a teachers aide at Brooks Yates for 30 plus years and a member of Williamsport UMC.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings Harold “Sonny” Gilmore and Clarence “Bill” Gilmore and Myrna (Gilmore) Ryan.  Ethel is survived by her husband Charles Galloway, daughters Dena (Jim) Redman, Brenda (Pete) Kazmierczak, Marie (Dennis) Hammond, grandchildren Brandon (Jenn) Redman, Brice (Elizabeth) Redman, AJ and Logan Kazmierczak, Megan and Jozie Hammond, great grandsons Bowen, Bryer and Baby Boy Redman due in May, sister-in-law Norma Jean Gilmore, brother Marion “Bud” Gilmore, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Bev Whitten, Clarabell Valentine and Ruth Long.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Linville officiating.  Burial will follow in Springlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Williamsport UMC Food Pantry or American Cancer Society.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
