HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Columbus woman was rushed to a trauma center and faces operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) charges after her vehicle veered off the road, rolled over, and burst into flames on US-23 Monday afternoon.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 1:12 p.m. on June 29, 2026, on US-23 Southbound, just south of Bloomfield Hills Drive in Harrison Township.

According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office crash report, 53-year-old Hallie Jo Fargnolli of Columbus was operating a red 2017 Nissan Rogue when she attempted to change lanes. Investigators noted that Fargnolli overcorrected, causing the SUV to hurtle off the right side of the roadway.

The vehicle violently overturned into a ditch and quickly caught fire. The Nissan sustained severe, disabling damage and was completely destroyed in the blaze before being towed from the scene by A&L Towing.

Emergency Response and Injuries

Emergency crews arrived on the scene within seven minutes of the initial dispatch. Harrison Township EMS treated Fargnolli at the scene for suspected serious injuries before transporting her to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for emergency medical care.

The report indicates that Fargnolli was wearing her combined lap and shoulder safety belt, and both the front and side airbags successfully deployed during the rollover. Fargnolli was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

OVI Citation Issued

Deputies suspected alcohol usage to be a contributing factor in the crash. Fargnolli was subsequently issued a formal citation under Ohio Revised Code 4511.19A1A for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. An official alcohol test was administered, and the results are currently pending.

The crash forced responding deputies to completely shut down the southbound lanes of US-23 for 35 minutes while fire crews extinguished the flames and cleared the wreckage. Deputy Alex Casto investigated the incident.
