ROSS COUNTY – Ross County Shelter is looking for answers after discovering a small dog in a box at their shelter who was left overnight.

When employees showed up this morning they found a small dog in a dog food box in front of the shelter door. The shelter reports that the dog was cold and could not walk when they rescued him from his confinement.

The shelter has taken him to North Fork Animal Clinic and said that, “we don’t have high hopes that the outcome will be good.”

“We understand that whoever left him hoped we would help him but it’s 32 degrees outside and dropping dogs off after hours is illegal and very unsafe,” said the shelter.

We will update on the situation when it becomes available.
