MOUNT STERLING, Ohio — Deer Creek State Park Lodge will serve as a local epicenter for a statewide celebration this month, as the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and Great Ohio Lodges host a synchronized, illuminated drone show titled “Remember, Lights in the Sky” on Saturday, September 12.
At 9:00 p.m., a fleet of light-emitting drones will take to the sky over Deer Creek—simultaneously with eight other state park lodges across Ohio—to mark America’s 250th anniversary and feature a patriotic tribute honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
In addition to the evening finale at Deer Creek, the lodge will offer a full schedule of family-friendly activities throughout the day, giving visitors access to the park’s surrounding trails, lake, and recreational amenities.
“Whether you’re joining us for the drone show, exploring the parks, or enjoying the many activities offered at our lodges, we hope you take this opportunity to experience the very best of Ohio State Parks,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz.
Eight other state park lodges will host the simultaneous 9:00 p.m. spectacle, including Burr Oak, Hueston Woods, Hocking Hills, Mohican, Maumee Bay, Punderson Manor, Salt Fork, and Shawnee.
