Dairy Queen in Hocking County Offers Free Meals to Emergency Personel

HOCKING – A popular ice cream and lunch restaurant is offering to feed people that are working hard to get the lights on.

On Friday, February 4th Hocking County Commissioners declared a state of emergency for the entire county of Hocking. Since then thousands of people have been without power due to hundreds of trees and power lines down causing massive disruption.

According to the South Central power outage map, over 3 thousand people are without power currently since Thursday.

Electric companies are far as Kentucky have come to the aid of the Southern Ohio county, now locally they are also doing their part.

“FREE MEALS at your Logan DQ to all ODOT, City, County & Township Warriors clearing our roads and AEP & South Central Heroes restoring our power! Come in & eat a hot meal in our warm lobby! If you know of any, please pass this along! (Proper Identification Required) Thank you to all,” said Logan Dairy Queen on a social media post.

Located at 31640 Chieftain dr in Logan the Dairy Queen was also without power for over a day and just recently reopened.
