CIRCLEVILLE – Circleville City Council will meet tonight January 29th for a special long range strategic meeting. This meeting will be to discuss purchase of a piece of property for Barthelmas Park use, to discuss moving Circleville into a new structure of government called a charter. Currently in Ohio 188 cities have formed the charter type system. A charter is a document that spells out the powers, duties and structures of government and the rights of citizens. It is often compared to constitutions at the local level. Don Mcllroy Circleville’s current mayor has voiced his approval of moving towards a charter system.
