CIRCLEVILLE, OH — With warmer weather finally settling into Pickaway County, the City of Circleville is teaming up with local cycling enthusiasts to ensure the community’s youngest riders are prepared for a safe season on two wheels.

The Circleville Community Bicycle Riders and the City of Circleville have announced the Community Bike Safety Rodeo, scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026. The event will run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ted Lewis Park, located at 443 N. Court Street.

Gears, Grease, and Giveaways

The rodeo is designed to be a “one-stop shop” for youth cycling needs. Organizers have lined up several free services and activities to encourage safe riding habits, including:

  • Free Bike Tune-Ups: Local experts will be on-site to provide basic maintenance, ensuring brakes and chains are in working order.
  • Safety Course: A dedicated bike safety course will allow kids to practice essential riding skills and hand signals in a controlled, fun environment.
  • Giveaways: The event will feature bike and helmet giveaways to help ensure every child has the proper equipment to stay protected.

Open to All

The event is open to kids of all ages. Whether a child is just starting out on training wheels or is an experienced neighborhood rider, the rodeo aims to build confidence and reinforce the rules of the road.

The initiative comes at a vital time, as city parks and bike paths see increased traffic during the spring months. By providing free helmets and professional tune-ups, the city and the Community Bicycle Riders are working to remove barriers to safe outdoor recreation.

Families are encouraged to bring their bicycles and helmets to Ted Lewis Park this Sunday afternoon for two hours of education and community fun.
