
CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department handled 101 incidents over a busy two-day stretch, managing a series of property crimes, physical altercations, and multiple vehicle accidents across the city.
Assault, Burglary, and Stolen Vehicle Reports
Officers responded to several high-priority criminal complaints, including a burglary and a stolen vehicle report:
Assault on E. Ohio Street: On Wednesday afternoon at 3:21 PM, officers responded to East Ohio Street regarding a reported assault. A formal police report was taken.
Late-Night Burglary: Late Thursday evening at 10:02 PM, units rushed to Town Street following a burglary complaint. Officers opened an active investigation and a report was taken.
Stolen Vehicle: A resident on Ruth Avenue contacted authorities at 10:58 AM on Wednesday to report their vehicle had been stolen. A stolen vehicle report was processed.
Fraud Investigations: Two separate fraud complaints were lodged over the 48-hour period—the first on Lee Court at 9:44 AM on Wednesday, and the second on Chatham Road at 11:32 AM on Thursday.
Traffic Stops, Accidents, and an Arrest
Traffic safety kept officers occupied on local roadways, culminating in an arrest on Thursday afternoon:
S. Pickaway Street Arrest: During a routine traffic stop on South Pickaway Street at 5:10 PM on Thursday, officers took an individual into custody.
Injury Accidents: Emergency crews responded to two separate injury crashes on Thursday. The first occurred at 12:41 PM on South Court Street, and the second took place at 3:21 PM on East Main Street. Citations were issued in both incidents.
Hit-Skip Crashes: Drivers fled the scene in two separate hit-skip accidents. The first was reported Wednesday morning at 6:33 AM on West Main Street. The second occurred Thursday afternoon at 2:46 PM on East Main Street.
Suspicious Activity and Civil Disputes
Threats and Harassment: Police took official reports for intimidation and harassment twice on Thursday evening—first on West Main Street at 6:50 PM, and later on Walnut Street at 9:08 PM. An earlier harassment complaint on East Mound Street Wednesday afternoon was determined to be a civil matter.
Welfare Checks: Officers performed multiple well-being checks across the city. Notably, a check on Walnut Street on Wednesday night (9:53 PM) and another on East Mound Street on Thursday afternoon (4:26 PM) required formal reports to be filed.
Most cases without immediate resolutions or arrests remain under active investigation by the Circleville Police Department.
