CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The Circleville Police Department handled a wide array of calls over a 24-hour period on Tuesday, May 12, ranging from routine traffic enforcement to more serious reports of assault and protection order violations.
According to the latest Call for Service (CFS) logs, officers responded to 36 total incidents.
High-Priority Incidents and Reports
While many calls ended in warnings or “unable to locate” dispositions, several incidents required formal reports and investigations:
- Violations and Threats: Officers took reports on a Violation of a Protection Order on South Pickaway Street and two separate cases of Threats/Harassment (South Pickaway Street and Town Street).
- Physical Crimes: Late Tuesday evening, police responded to an Assault on South Court Street at 10:56 PM, where a formal report was filed. Earlier in the day, a Trespassing report was taken on the same street.
- Welfare and Safety: Police were called twice regarding Well-Being Checks and Suicide Threats. A call on Ruth Avenue resulted in officers being unable to locate the individual, while a later call on Watt Street ended with the person being “Checked Okay.”
Traffic and Property
Traffic enforcement remained a steady theme throughout the day. Officers issued a citation on South Court Street and took a full report following a traffic stop on East Main Street. Meanwhile, a property damage report was filed following an afternoon incident on North Court Street.

In the late afternoon, the Circleville Fire Department (CFD) was requested for mutual aid on Lynwood Avenue. Responders arrived to find the situation contained and the fire out.
The Search for Wanted Persons
A significant portion of the early morning shift was spent attempting to serve warrants. Between midnight and 2:30 AM, officers conducted searches on US 23, Second Avenue, and Turner Drive. In all four instances, the subjects were “Gone on Arrival” or officers were unable to locate them.
