Circleville Man Sentenced to Prison for Trafficking in Drugs

Circleville – A 42-year-old man has been found guilty and sentenced to years in prison for trafficking drugs.

In November of 2022 Circleville Police made stop on a black 2005 Ford Focus for a traffic violation when he stopped he told police that he, “did not want to go to jail,” but after a free air sniff by K9 Dexter and handler Ofc Sanford showed detection of narcotics inside the vehicle.

Inside the vehicle and in the front passenger seat police found a bag that contained drug scales, and baggies of narcotics that resembled a light-brown powder. In another area of the car, police found a box that contained several hundred empty baggies that were like the baggies that had drugs in them.

The baggies of drugs were sent off to a crime lab to be tested below is the list.

8.73 grams of methamphetamine (Net weight)
0.81 grams of methamphetamine (Gross weight)
1.49 grams of methamphetamine (Gross weight)
1.92 grams of methamphetamine (Gross weight)
0.41 grams of methamphetamine (Gross weight)
0.53 grams of methamphetamine (Gross weight)
0.71 grams of methamphetamine (Gross weight)
2.67 grams of methamphetamine (Gross weight)
5.92 grams of liquid methamphetamine (Gross weight)
In total, 17.27 grams of a brown powder substance tested positive for methamphetamine, and 5.92 grams of a clear liquid substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Originally Kenny Young, 42 of Circleville was charged with Agg. Trafficking in drugs, but he was found guilty of a lesser charge of Possession of drugs and was sentenced this week to 3-4 years in prison.
