CHILLICOTHE, OH – A traffic stop on November 21, 2024, led to the discovery of suspected narcotics and the arrest of a Chillicothe woman. Officer Canterbury was on patrol in the area of 508 E. Second Street, a location known for narcotic activity, when he observed a woman, later identified as Carre Perkins, leaving a residence and getting into a light-colored Dodge Stratus.
The officer initiated a stop on the vehicle after confirming through LEADS that Perkins had a suspended driver’s license. Upon making contact with Perkins, she initially provided a false name, and social security number claiming to be someone else, When the officer cross-checked the information, he discovered the name and Social Security number did not match Perkins’ identity. She later admitted to lying about her identity.
During the stop, Perkins was detained and questioned about the presence of any illegal items in the vehicle. She then admitted to having narcotics in the car, stating that she had thrown “fetty” on the floorboard. Officers located the suspected narcotics, which were seized and sent to BCI for lab testing.
Perkins was issued a summons for obstructing justice and a citation for driving under suspension (DUS). She is scheduled to appear in Chillicothe Municipal Court on November 25, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Additional charges related to possession are pending lab results.
