Chillicothe – Police Investigate Two Shootings in the City

Chillicothe – Two shootings occured in the city on Monday 6/13/22 both of them unsolved at this time.

According to Chillicothe police, the first shooting occurred around 10 am on Monday when police were called to the scene of Chips DriveThru, 33 N. Bridge St. in reference to a possible shooting. When they arrived a victim said that he was walking in an alleyway when two people pulled handguns and shot at him, but he wasn’t injured. Police found three shell casings around the area, two spent 9mm shell casings in the rear area of 35 N. Bridge St, and in the area of the rear of Advance Auto parts, another spent 9mm shell casing was located, it was noted in the report that this bullet hit the building. Video evidence collected at the scene showed possible suspects, police are still investigating.

According to the Ross County sheriff’s office, they were dispatched to ARMC ER when the hospital reported a male had walked into the ER with a gunshot wound around 9:53 pm. After talking to the victim Chillicothe police took over the case because the shooting occurred inside the city limits and started investigating to the area of Eighth and Mulberry in reference to the shooting.

One witness reported that he heard someone yelling something about being shot and observed a large-sized male walking in the middle of the street, just south of Seventh Street. He said the man was wearing a black shirt and red shorts. Officers checked the area, but were unable to find anything further, but the investigation is ongoing.
