
CHILLICOTHE — The Chillicothe Police Department stayed active through the 24-hour period of April 14, 2026, handling a total of 13 incidents ranging from property crimes to interstate theft investigations.
Property Crimes and Burglaries
Officers responded to multiple reports of forced entry and theft across the city:
- Belleview Avenue: Just after midnight, units were dispatched to the 601 block of Belleview Avenue to investigate a possible burglary.
- Liberty Street: Early Tuesday evening, a second burglary report was filed at 621 Liberty Street. Both cases remain under active investigation.
- North Rose Street: A theft complaint was filed at 93 N. Rose St. at 8:15 a.m. No suspects have been named at this time.
- North Bridge Street: CPD was contacted by the Baltimore Police Department regarding a theft offense involving receiving stolen property. Details are limited as the cross-agency investigation continues.
Warrant Arrests and Incidents
Two individuals were taken into custody or served while already in jail on Tuesday:
- Hickory Street: An officer on patrol spotted a silver Ford Focus and ran the registration, discovering the owner, Brooke Thompson, had an active warrant for Failure to Appear. Thompson was arrested and transported to the Ross County Jail without incident.
- North Paint Street: While at the jail on an unrelated matter, an officer served Sunshine Eblin with an outstanding warrant (CRB2600528) after confirming her identity.
Additionally, officers were called to South Douglas Avenue at 9:59 a.m. following reports of a male entering a residence without permission.
Traffic and Public Safety
- Eastern Avenue: During a late-night patrol, an officer stopped a black Chevy Impala for a headlight violation. The driver, Robert Gravely Jr., was found to be driving under a non-compliance suspension. Gravely was issued a citation and a court date.
- East Water Street: A traffic stop at 1:45 p.m. near Paint Street resulted in a citation for driving while texting.
- Scam Alert: Police took a “non-criminal” report on North Paint Street involving a possible scam. Residents are reminded to be cautious of unsolicited requests for money or personal information.
Jurisdictional Hand-off
A report of criminal trespassing on outdoor property west of 401 S. Paint St. was investigated by city officers but has since been forwarded to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office for further handling.
