Chillicothe – Man on Mini Bike Runs from Police and Gets Away

CHILLICOTHE – A man on a mini bike ran from police after an attempted stop.

According to the Chillicothe police department on April 14, 2022, the police department attempted to stop a male on a minibike at the intersection of Watt St and E Main St. When Police got behind the bike and turned on their lights for a traffic stop the male failed to comply and traveled in the westbound lane, headed east on E Main St.

Here is the statement in the report:

On April 14, 2022, I attempted to stop a male on a minibike at the intersection of Watt St and E Main St. I turned my overhead lights on to initiate a traffic stop but the male looked back at me and continued on. I then turned my lights off and continued to follow the male at around 15 mph. The male traveled east in the westbound lane, on E Main St. Suspect crashed the minibike at E Main St and Poplar St. Male then took off on foot but was not apprehended. The suspect was a black male, around 16-18 yoa, wearing an orange sweatshirt. Bike was seized and placed in the Found Property room basement. Bike is a black Colemen mini bike.

During the chase, the man who was driving erratic to escape crashed the minibike at E Main St and Poplar St. Male and then took off on foot but was not apprehended. A report was taken and the bike was seized.

Possible sale of the bike on sheriff sales in the future if the man does not come and reclaim the property.
