CIRCLEVILLE

The Downtown Circleville received some art and inspiration on Saturday, September 9, with the Downtown Business Association’s annual Arts and Crafts fair event called “Chalk it Up”. The event was sponsored by Circleville DBA and Pickaway Country Visitors Bureau.

Contestants were given an area to create art and a theme involving a favorite animal. From 9 am to 2 pm, kids worked diligently to create an award winning piece of art.  The event was judged by Circleville’s art experts including Dorthy Cooper from Arts Around, Arts Around President John “JP” Pennell, and Round Town Players President Tahrea Maynard.

Judging was then broken up into age brackets including Kindergarten-5th, Grades 6th-8th, Grades 9th-12th and Adult/College.  Sue Lumley, President of the Downtown Business Association, explains this great event and shows off the winner’s creations in our exclusive video.
