Ross County — The commissioners recently recognized “Career and Technical Education Month” with the help of two students from Pickaway-Ross CTC. On February 17th, 2026, Adriaunna Menendez of Unioto High School and Nehemiah Robinson of Chillicothe High School helped accept a resolution from the commissioners.
Both were dressed for their chosen professions that the Career and Technology Center is preparing them for, and spoke with me after the session. They said the hands-on training is a great alternative to standard schooling. They got to look into it in the 8th grade, and more as sophomores. Hear them in their own words in the below video.

"Career and Technical Education plays a vital role in preparing our students for success — in college, careers, and beyond. Across our county and throughout Ohio, CTE programs equip students with academic knowledge, hands-on technical skills, and the employability tools needed to thrive in today’s competitive workforce. "With two out of every three high school students participating in CTE programs, these opportunities are transforming student engagement and career readiness. Through apprenticeships, internships, simulated workplaces, and industry partnerships, students gain real-world experience while earning industry-recognized credentials and even college credit. "Nationally recognized by the Association for Career and Technical Education, CTE Month highlights the powerful partnerships between education and local business leaders that help ensure our workforce remains strong and future-focused. "Ross County is proud to support the educators, students, and industry partners who make Career and Technical Education a cornerstone of opportunity in our community. "We encourage our local schools, businesses, and community organizations to join us in celebrating the positive impact of CTE programs throughout February."
