WILMINGTON, Ohio — A Jeffersonville man who was working as a contracted custodian at Wilmington College has been charged with 11 counts of voyeurism following an incident involving members of the college’s women’s soccer team.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded to the Scheve Athletic Center at approximately 9:40 p.m. September 22 after receiving a report that an individual was allegedly taking photographs of members of the women’s soccer team while they were changing inside a female locker room.
When officers arrived, a male suspect was being detained by Wilmington College Campus Safety personnel.
Police said the subsequent investigation determined that the suspect had allegedly concealed himself in the ceiling area of the female locker room. A member of the soccer team discovered the individual, and Wilmington College Campus Safety and Wilmington police were notified.
The suspect was identified as Jayson Barker of Jeffersonville, Ohio.
According to police, Barker was working at Wilmington College as a contracted employee performing custodial services.
As a result of the initial investigation, Barker was charged with 11 counts of voyeurism.
He is currently being held at the Clinton County Jail on a $22,000 cash/surety bond.
Barker’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 5, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Clinton County Municipal Court.
Investigation Continues
The Wilmington Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing.
Investigators are reviewing potential evidence to determine whether additional criminal charges are warranted. Police said additional information may be released as appropriate because the investigation remains active.
All criminal charges are allegations, and Barker is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
