Update – Structure Fire in Pike County Kills Two Inside Home

Ross County – A structure fire has been reported in Pike County, two people have been reported that may be trapped inside.

According to early reports, the fire has been reported in the area of 1600 block of Fairview Road in Southern Ross County. Several units have been requested to the area. In the reports, two people were reported to be inside the house, when Deputies arrived on the scene they reported that 90% of the home had burnt

Update:

The tragic fire claimed the lives of two individuals in Perry Township on Tuesday evening.

Fire and Response:

  • The Bainbridge Fire Department responded to a fire at 1641 Fairview Road at approximately 9:05 pm.
  • Mutual aid was provided by fire departments from Paint Creek Joint Fire District, Brushcreek Township, Pebble Township, Benton Township, and Marshall Township.

Loss of Life and Investigation:

  • Sadly, two adults were found entrapped in the residence and succumbed to their injuries.
  • A joint investigation is underway by the Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau, Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Pike County Coroner’s Office, and the Bainbridge Fire Department.

Cause Undetermined:

  • The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and remains undetermined.
