Circleville – A local man got the scoop on what will take over the former Del Taco Location located on US-23 and Connector road in Circleville, a place that is really new to Ohio.

Bojangles’, a beloved fast-food chain known for its mouthwatering fried chicken and fluffy buttermilk biscuits, is making waves with its recent expansion plans. Traditionally a staple in the Southern United States, Bojangles’ is venturing further north, enticing new customers with its unique brand of Southern comfort food.

Local C34 Personal Training and Fitness/ID Life associate Eddie Christian told us that he happened to be in the area at the local Aldis when he saw several people standing in the parking lot of the former taco joint and his curiosity got the best of him. He asked, “I hope it’s going to be a steak house!” but the man smiled and said Nope, and when he opened his jacket he showed a Bojangles logo on his shirt. He then said, “we’re coming it’s official.”

Founded in 1977 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bojangles’ has carved a niche for itself with its unique chicken preparation. Their chicken is marinated for 24 hours before being hand-battered and cooked in a special pressure cooker, resulting in juicy, flavorful chicken with a crispy golden brown crust. But Bojangles’ doesn’t stop at just chicken. Their menu boasts an array of Southern specialties, like buttery biscuits, creamy mashed potatoes with sawmill gravy, flavorful seasoned fries, and hearty red beans and rice.

Bojangles’ expansion plans signal a growing interest in Southern-style fast food beyond its traditional strongholds. This trend suggests a national appetite for the chain’s unique offerings. While established fast-food giants may dominate the market, Bojangles’ positions itself as a more distinctive option, offering a taste of Southern hospitality with every bite.

It remains to be seen if Bojangles’ can successfully capture the hearts (and stomachs) of new customers in unfamiliar territory. However, their foray northward presents an exciting opportunity for both the chain and adventurous foodies seeking a taste of the South.

We have reached out to the company to verify this story but, it does seem to fit their plans recently opening up in Two locations in Central Ohio, one on the West side of Columbus and another in Heath Ohio. In 2021 the Chicken Chain announced they they had plans for 15 stores in Central Ohio
