Hosted by Ross County Litter Control and Recycling in collaboration with community partners, the cleanup initiative seeks to protect the local environment and promote a culture of responsible waste management.
Participants are urged to assemble at the Chillicothe Annex, with the meeting point designated as the last parking lot to the right, at 8:00 a.m. Volunteers are advised to dress appropriately in old clothes and rubber boots and bring gloves to ensure their safety and comfort during the cleanup efforts. Rain or shine, the event will proceed unless severe weather conditions arise, with no rain date scheduled.
In addition to contributing to a cleaner environment, volunteers will be treated to refreshments as a token of appreciation for their dedication. Groups engaging in community service can also request certificates and letters of recognition for their participation, highlighting their commitment to environmental preservation.
Following the cleanup activities, participants are encouraged to visit the 24th Annual Earth Gathering, which will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the lawn of the Pump House Center for the Arts. Hosted by Ross County Litter Control and Recycling, Chillicothe Parks & Recreation, RPHF Solid Waste District, and Crispie Creme Donuts, the Earth Gathering promises to be a celebration of sustainability and community engagement.
