CIRCLEVILLE, OH — Serving on a jury in Pickaway County is getting a modern, tech-friendly upgrade.
Matthew H. Chafin, Judge of the Pickaway County Common Pleas Court, announced on Monday, September 14, 2026, the launch of a brand-new jury management system aimed at simplifying the jury duty process for local residents. The initiative is fully funded through an Ohio Court Technology Grant.
Under the upgraded system, the court is changing how residents are notified when called to serve. Instead of receiving traditional paper mailings, residents selected for jury duty will now receive an Official Court Summons Postcard in their mail.
Court officials want to reassure the public that these postcard notifications are legitimate legal documents and not a scam. The postcards feature a QR code on the back that is completely safe for recipients to scan.
“Serving on a jury is a vital civic duty, and we want to make that process as hassle-free as possible,” said Judge Chafin. “This postcard is an Official Court Summons, and when you scan the QR code on the back, it will take you straight to our new digital Juror Portal so you can check in, complete your questionnaire, and get text or email updates in simply just a few clicks.”
The digital portal allows prospective jurors to handle administrative steps online quickly, eliminating the need to mail back paper questionnaires.
