CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe Police responded to 15 incidents on July 28, investigating a suspected drug overdose, multiple thefts, vandalism at Yoctangee Park, several trespassing complaints, and multiple traffic crashes, according to the department’s daily media report.
Overdose Under Investigation
The final call of the day came at approximately 10:33 p.m., when officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Fourth Street for a reported drug overdose. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
Several Theft Reports Filed
Officers investigated several theft complaints throughout the day.
Just after midnight, police were called to the 90 block of South Walnut Street regarding a reported theft. Although the case was initially categorized as a warrant-related incident, the narrative indicates officers were responding to a theft complaint. The investigation remains pending.
Later in the morning, officers responded to East Second Street after a theft was reported. That investigation is continuing.
During the afternoon, police were dispatched to the Speedway convenience store at 10 North Bridge Street for another reported theft. Officers said that case also remains under investigation.
Vandalism Reported at Yoctangee Park
Police responded to Yoctangee Park Tuesday evening after receiving a report of vandalism. The incident was classified as criminal mischief, and officers completed a report. The investigation is pending.
Trespassing Complaints
Officers handled several trespassing-related complaints throughout the day.
Police responded to Tobacco Discounters on North Bridge Street after a reported trespass complaint during the afternoon.
Additional trespassing complaints were investigated at an apartment on Caldwell Street and later at McArthur Gardens on Columbus Street. Both investigations remain ongoing.
Disorderly Conduct at Dollar General
Shortly before noon, officers were dispatched to the Dollar General at Central Center in response to a disorderly conduct complaint. Police said the investigation is pending.
Traffic Crashes
Police investigated several traffic crashes Tuesday.
One crash on Western Avenue involved an assured clear distance ahead violation.
Another collision on Eastern Avenue involved allegations of permitting an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle.
Later in the afternoon, officers responded to a hit-skip crash in the 600 block of East Main Street. That investigation remains active.
A separate crash at the intersection of Western Avenue and Delano Avenue resulted in a citation being issued for an assured clear distance violation.
Other Calls
Officers also responded to a complaint on East Water Street, where the investigation is continuing, and handled a juvenile-related complaint at the Law Enforcement Complex.
